Watch the river running backwards See people’s choices ripped from them Short sighted and wrong A funeral for common sense Watch the morning turn to night Feed the ego, starve the rest Thoughts and prayers, don’t give me that shit A funeral for common sense
2.
Routine is a prison cell Conformity a kind of hell Yet we build these walls around us. Our maps are chartered from birth It’s like a goddamned curse But we allow these bonds to tie us Every venture starts with that first step And it’s the hardest step of all Set your sights on new horizons Go in search for distant shores When you draw your last breath Will you feel you did it all? Was there more to see? Did you reach those distant shores?
3.
Shadows dancing, all around me Taunting and teasing, relentlessly Invading my hopes, invading my dreams. No one seems to hear my screams… Voices whispering, no one there Leading me towards the cursed lair Sapping my strength sapping my hopes. I stare at pills, knives and ropes. It’s not something you can feel It’s not something you can touch There is no remedy… only understanding It’s a Dark Companion. The ever present Fiend So Be Kind, Be Fair… Just be Understanding

Scars of War 05:28
Scars of War Plant the seeds into peoples’ minds That their lives are under threat Pick a nation or a race to fight Ready, let’s get set… Wars leave their scars For years to come Generations decimated For a pricely sum… we cannot take no more of the scars of war. Grow the seeds with media frenzy War is big business Create a narrative for the sheep to echo Brainwashing with skilled finesse Mankind’s maturity is stifled By the greed and corruption of some To find peace is the only solution But I fear that day will never come
5.
Journey to Hell 1. At the Gates of Hell Standing at the gates of hell Watching as the demons amass I pause, rigid with fear But I know I have no choice Caked in chicken blood and gore To hide my human scent I walk cautiously through the gates Amid screams of horror and repent From a young age I knew I had a gift A second sight, telekinesis Which I used to fight all evil Killing demons and unholy creatures Then I met Tesia, a half demoness I spared her life, we fell in love I gave up my life of hunting evil And we moved as far away as we could
6.
Journey to Hell 2. The Path of Shadows Walking the path of shadows Sinners and demons all around I keep alert, hidden among the vile And putrid that are abound I look to Satan’s castle as I walk the path of shadows. Tesia and I built a farm Away from prying eyes It was a life of peace and love Where no one knew of our past lives I gaze at Satan’s castle on the hill As I walk the path of shadows Demons came for her one night I tried to fight them off, too many I got away, beaten and broken But vowed I would get her back again She is a prisoner in Satan’s castle So I walk the path of shadows.
7.
Journey to Hell 3. The Dark Forest Up ahead I see the trees of the dark forest Pure evil lurks within and I know that this will be my toughest test The blood still runs freely on my clothing And I pray I am still invisible to those within The dark forest – A wedge between me and Satan’s castle The dark forest – A last challenge before I reach the castle The ancient trees swallow me up, I sense evil’s wrath All is still, just the sound of my feet on the faint path I sense a hundred eyes watching me from the trees Ever alert, I hope they don’t see the real me All at once, a hundred demons pounce It was a trap; they knew I was here Too many to fight, I have no defence And I am dragged through the forest… Towards Lucifer…
8.
Journey to Hell 4. Satan’s Castle I drift between consciousness and fantasy I wander from lies and reality I am being pulled in every direction A battle rages between truth and fiction I come too, face on the cold stone floor Demons all around, causing an uproar Satan sits on his throne, grinning down at me And Tesia sits beside him! What is this treachery? At was all just a trick, Tesia’s love All just a rouse to get me here ‘You have killed too many of my kin,’ he screamed ‘Now I’ll rip your soul out, you belong to me.’ But I knew all along It was my way to get to Satan Face to face I drew up all the strength from hunters all around the world The force burst from me and soon all the demons were dead Including Tesia… Finally, I turned to Satan It was him, or it was me…
9.
Journey to Hell 5. The Dead and the Dying Faces Masks Lights Satan and I confront each other Bleach Hands Voices I hold my hands together I flash between places Good and evil faces I use all my strength and might Satan lies on the ground He hardly makes a sound Victory is now, victory is mine ‘You have defeated me now,’ he screams ‘But I will be back.’ ‘Yes,’ I said. ‘And I will be waiting.’ I see faces, wife… children Melting worlds, darkness comes. Voicing willing me on I have no more strength to give Just let me breathe… breathe another day…

about

Welcome, Rock Fans, to a Journey to Hell!

We kick off the album with the last song that was recorded for the album, ‘A Funeral for Common Sense,’ which is basically about how we are maybe forced not to use common sense anymore? But mostly about the Roe v Wade ruling made recently in USA about abortion rights. Where is the common sense in that?

‘Distant Shores’ is next up, the lightest song on the album about how we should all move out of our comfort zones/ruts if we can. Either by visiting places and living life to the full or breaking habits and addictions - as a good friend of mine used to say, ‘This is no dress rehearsal.’

My buddy Mark ‘Bezzer’ Johnson co-produced, mixed and added bits here and there for the third song on the album, my little nod to mental health issues ‘The Dark Companion.’ Mental Health is a problem, it is always there for many people who there… a dark companion.
‘Scars of War’ is basically about war and it is mostly all about making money… that’s my view anyway.

The next five songs are a story… a side B in old money… It is the Journey to Hell as per the album title, in which an ex-demon hunter who takes a trip to hell to save his half demon wife, from standing ‘At the Gates of Hell,’ walking the ‘Path of Shadows,’ and trekking through the ‘Dark Forest.’ But all is not as it appears as we reach ‘Satan’s Castle’ and our hero must work out what is real and fantasy as we round off the album with ‘The Dead and The Dying.’

The album was written, produced and performed by Wolf’s Night, save for ‘The Dark Companion,’ which was co-produced, co-mixed by Mark.

The artwork for the album was by Jcoope12 of Pixabay adapted by Wolf’s Night.
